More than 35 years of experience in testing. Over 200 state-of-the-art drivetrain test benches worldwide. More than 800 highly qualified employees. That is ATESTEO today. It all began in Aachen in 1986 with the vision of supporting the automotive industry in the development of vehicles through safe, independent and high-quality testing of powertrains and transmissions. Since then, ATESTEO has become the leading drivetrain testing specialist for car manufacturers and automotive suppliers around the world with many achievements and milestones.

2018

  • Opening of the North Testing Center with 20 drivetrain test benches in Tianjin, China
  • Change of name to ATESTEO GmbH & Co. KG

2017

  • Opening of the branch in Garching near Munich with 10 powertrain test benches
  • Majority takeover of leading driving test service provider straesser
  • Establishment of a new Drivetrain Testing Centre in Tianjin, China
  • ATESTEO becomes part of IHO Holding

  • Commissioning of the “Hall IV” test bench building

  • Commissioning of the test bench building “Hall III” and the MPZ (Measuring and Testing Centre for Automotive Technology GmbH)

1997

  • Start of construction of a research and development centre in Alsdorf with measuring track, roller test rigs, powertrain test rigs, laboratories, workshops and office buildings.

1996

  • Foundation of Gesellschaft für Antriebstechnik mbH (GAT) as a joint venture with Mannesmann Sachs AG (now ZF Sachs AG)

1995

  • 76 employees

1991

  • Completion of the administration building with additional test benches and workshops in Aachen

1987

  • Commissioning of the first test stand

1986

  • Foundation of the Gesellschaft für Industrieforschung mbH (GIF) from the staff of the Institute of Automotive Engineering (ika) at RWTH Aachen University: Development service for the automotive industry (focus on test bench).
